The Jackson Control Sustainability Awards recognize exceptional performance among IREM Certified Sustainable Properties (CSP®). This award program highlights the teams of people behind sustainable building performance and encourages knowledge-sharing to help others on their sustainable property journeys.
Properties are recognized in the following categories: multi-family, medical office building, retail, senior housing, and office. All category winners are finalists for the People’s Choice for Sustainable Property award. Congratulations to the winners!

WINNER - Atria at Foster SquareSenior housing | Foster City, CA | Built in 2016 | 187,657 RSF
Built seven years ago, the property is one of Atria’s signature buildings and pursued LEED certification, obtaining LEED Silver certified. Sustainability is part of their business and mission to make a positive impact on the environment and lives of residents and employees.

WINNER - Brookhaven Shopping CenterRetail | Brookhaven, PA | Built in 1965 | 211,381 RSF
Implementing sustainability practices for more than a decade, the Brookhaven Shopping Center has deployed recycling efforts with vendors, low water and minimal maintenance plants around the property and a single water meter to track consumption across all tenants.
WINNER - The Minneapolis Grain Exchange ComplexOffice | Minneapolis, MN | Built in 1902 | 306,492 RSF
Implementing sustainable building operations into a historic building built more than 100 years ago, required a collaborative framework. Capital improvements worth $37.5 million over the course of a decade included replacing HVAC controls and heat radiation equipment with digital, automated controls.

Part of creating a healthy environment on-site at Missionary Ridge MOB includes 100% native landscaping featuring, drought-tolerant plants and xeriscaping.

As a garden style asset, a top priority was blending sustainability practices with the natural environment. Drought tolerant plants and a smart irrigation system, HydroPoint, reduce water consumption.
